Oil and Gas is a natural resource that is highly strategic for Indonesia, not only as a supplier of fuel and raw materials industry in the country, but also a mainstay source of revenue and foreign exchange.
Upstream oil and gas can not be separated from the national regulations regarding state ownership of oil and gas resources.
Upstream oil and gas is divided into three stages, namely the pre KKS (cooperation contract), KKS and KKS post. The scope of activities in pre-KKS stages including the general survey activities in order to obtain the geological technical data for new working area deals.
The next stage is the stage of the PSC (after the signing of KKS), exploration activities to find oil and gas reserves and exploitation carried out by the contractor at this stage. The last stage is the cooperation contract expires or backup is not economical to exploit again, so that the working area can be offered again by the government as a new work area.
